Pricing
Both. Small jobs (repairs, fixture installs, etc.) are billed hourly. For larger projects — decks, renovations, fences — I provide a fixed quote so you know the total before work begins.

Yes. No charge to come out, look at the job, and give you a quote. No obligation to proceed.
Yes. The quoted price is what you pay. If something unexpected comes up during the job, I'll tell you before doing extra work — not after.
Materials & Scope
Not necessarily. I can source materials, or we can work with what you already have. We figure that out at the estimate stage — whichever is easier for you.

Permits & Regulations
Usually yes if the deck is over 0.6m (about 2 ft) above grade. Calgary requires a building permit for most decks. I can guide you through the process. See deck cost guide for details.
Fences over 1.85m (about 6 ft) generally require a development permit in Calgary. In some areas there are also specific rules about front yard fences. I can help clarify. See fence cost guide.
Yes. Full general liability insurance on every job. Your home and property are protected.
